100 years of First World War: Lay down your arms! Now!
Desiring to improve the perception of World War I and of war and peace in general, of justice, solidarity and civil courage, the alliance: „100 years of First World War: Lay down your arms! Now!” announces a poster competition.
We are looking for entries, which depict World War I as a societal break, war and peace, arms production and disarmament: Tolerance. Peace. Justice. Solidarity. Against hate. Against violence. Against indifference.
The graphic ideas should be implemented in the form of a vertical-format DIN A1 poster. Participants can choose their artistic style means, from pictogram to comic strip.
Participation in the competition is not subject to any special conditions. Collective designs are permitted. Multilingual entries are welcome, but not required. Please note the author’s details as an imprint on your design.
Please submit print-ready, single-or multi-colored designs as PDF (suitable for the final format of 594 X 841 mm (DIN A1, vertical-format) by Email to wettbewerb@waffen-nieder.de or on a disk by mail to Die Anstifter e.V., Werastraße 10, 70182 Stuttgart, Germany.
- After the entries are submitted, a jury will select designs, which will be reproduced, printed, copied, publicly displayed and which will be freely available for the charitable work of the AnStifter. The members of the jury will be announced in due time.
- The alliance „Lay down your arms! Now!“ will award at least three design projects with a total of at least 2000€ and other non-cash prizes. A comprehensive presentation of the submitted designs will be provided in media and in public.
- The winners will be invited to an award ceremony in Stuttgart.
- The closing date is 31 May 2014.
Every attending person or group is allowed to submit a maximum of three printable design projects. By participating in this poster competition, the participants agree to the conditions of this competition.
You guarantee that you own the rights to all parts of the design and to the design itself. You agree with the non-commercial release of the submitted works, which take note of your authorship,
a) in printed form (poster, documentation, book, flyer etc.) and
b) in virtual form (on the websites of „Lay down your arms! Now!”, of the AnStifter) and of the peace movement).
The agreement also applies to press releases. The submitted works will be shown in exhibitions (e.g. in the Stuttgart theatre house). The right of appeal is excluded. In case of commercial use of certain projects, these will be rewarded after an arrangement.
All participants can obtain information about the current state of the competition and its output under www.waffen-nieder.de in the category „poster competition“. All submitted designs will be presented there.
